- Introduction: 6:30 Social & Networking
The Civilian Conservation Corps functioned from 1933 to 1942, and helped young men to have jobs and to work to repair our natural resources. Most people know about the work in our state parks, but 75% of Iowa's projects were soil erosion and forestry. That helped farmers repair their ground, protect it from flooding, and terracing, etc.
The Ankeny Genealogy Chapter meets the fourth Monday of the month January through November at 7:00 PM at the Kirkendall Public Library. All are welcome. There is no fee to attend, but if you would like to become a member there is $7.50 annual membership dues. Each month features a program to help in your research. Members are always available to help people with their research questions and try to get them over their brick walls when they hit one.
