Lane Closure at Oralabor/Delaware intersection begins tonight, Sept. 12
Delays expected for Wednesday's commute, alternative route encouraged
On Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., the outside right turn lane on westbound Oralabor Road will be closed at the SE Oralabor and SE Delaware intersection. This temporary closure will reduce westbound traffic to a single left turn lane, a single through lane and a single right turn lane at the intersection. The lane closure is expected to last through early Thursday morning, Sept. 14, weather permitting. Traffic will be maintained in all directions, however the westbound to northbound right turning radius will be temporarily restricted. I-35 truck traffic is being asked to use the Corporate Woods or First Street exits. All motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route as delays are expected.
This is the second of several short-term lane closures that will carry over during daytime hours for the SE Oralabor Road and SE Delaware Avenue Roadway and Traffic Signal Improvements project during the next month. These closures are necessary to allow the new concrete sufficient time to cure before opening the pavement to traffic. Additional announcements will be made with each closure affecting daytime traffic.
