The City of Ankeny, Iowa is seeking a consulting firm to update and revise its Parks & Facilities Comprehensive Plan. The City’s last Parks & Facilities Comprehensive Plan was completed in 2007, and since that time Ankeny has experienced tremendous residential and commercial growth. In the past 15 years, Ankeny’s population has increased from 27,117 to more than 60,000 residents. The goal of this process is to develop a Comprehensive Parks & Facilities Plan for the City of Ankeny looking out to a horizon year of 2040. Currently, the Parks & Recreation Department oversees more than 37 parks and open spaces, in addition to two aquatic centers, an elite 18-hole municipal golf course, a youth sports complex (consisting of 15 baseball fields, 9 soccer fields, 6 softball fields, and 6 football fields), an adult sports complex (consisting of 2 softball fields and 4 sand volleyball courts), two community public rental facilities, over 70 miles of community and regional trails, and programming participation numbers exceeding 34,000 annually.
Questions regarding this RFP should be submitted in writing to Parks & Recreation Director Nick Lenox no later than Oct. 2, 2017. Responses to all questions will be provided on this page.
Proposals are due on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 at 4 p.m. Interviews with selected firms will be held in November with a selection committee comprised of city leaders. A final selection will be made in December.
