Water, Gas, Electric, and Telephone

Water Hook-ups and Disconnects
The water supplier for Ankeny and most of Polk County is the Des Moines Water Works. The City of Ankeny administers water connects, disconnects, meter reading, and billing.

To hook up to Ankeny water, please fill out the Residential Utility Service form.

Please submit form in person to the Municipal Utilities Department, Public Services Building, 220 W. First Street, Ankeny, IA 50023. Applicant must provide a government-issued ID. 

The form may be mailed in with a photocopy of the government issued ID attached.

Mid-American Energy and Consumers Energy both supply natural gas and electricity service to all or parts of Ankeny.  Your service provider choice may depend on where you are located.
