About The EMS Division
Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care possible to the citizens of Ankeny and its visitors. The Ankeny Fire Department’s EMS Division provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) service to the City of Ankeny and northern Polk County. The EMS Division also provides ALS and transport services for the towns of Alleman and Elkhart. Full time and paid per call personnel provide Paramedic coverage for our responses. The Ankeny Fire Department has three ambulances that respond out of one main station. In 2006, this division responded to 1,705 calls for service.
