We offer a competitive pay plan
Ankeny’s pay plan strategy seeks to balance prudent public fund spending with the appropriate compensation needs of its employees. Competing for a talented and dedicated workforce in the same labor market as the private sector requires a competitive pay plan. The City frequently assesses the market in order to remain competitive and offers a total compensation package that promotes a professional and community-oriented work environment.
The City Council approves the various titles within the Job Classification Plan and the City Manager administers the plan to ensure accuracy. An appropriate salary range is assigned to each job classification with new employees starting at the minimum range. Generally, pay increases will occur at the beginning of each fiscal year.
