The City Council welcomes citizen participation during its regular meetings and provides an opportunity for citizens to address the Council at the start of each meeting.

The City Council meets at City Hall the first and third Monday of every month beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meeting dates may be changed due to holidays and/or special events. Please consult our calendar for public meeting dates and agenda items. Agendas packets are available here: http://publicagenda.ankenyiowa.gov

The Rules of Protocol

In February 2007, the Ankeny City Council adopted a Policy for Citizen Participation at City Council Meetings, which clearly outlines the protocol for citizen participation at the council work sessions and regular meetings. We have also developed a guide called "Government Working For You" that outlines effective communications with the council. Copies of the guide are also available at City Hall, 410 W 1st Street.

For further information related to City Council Meetings and citizen participation, please visit Government > Open Meetings Policy or contact the City Clerk’s office by phone at 515-965-6405 or by e-mail at pdemouth@ankenyiowa.gov.
