City Manager

The City Manager’s Office ensures that the policy direction set by the City Council is implemented and that the City’s delivery of public services is provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner. 

City ManagerDavid Jones

David Jones is the City Manager for the City of Ankeny. He ensures the policy direction set by the City Council is implemented and  delivery of public services is provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The City Manager is hired by and accountable to the City Council to oversee the day-to-day operations of the city.  

David Jones holds a B.S. in Communications from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, and an MPA from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 


Assistant City ManagerMike Schrock

Mike Schrock assists City Manager David Jones in daily operation of the City by performing highly responsible and complex management and administrative duties. In addition, he is responsible for management oversight of Municipal Utilities, Community Development, Parks & Recreation and Public Works. Prior to his appointment as assistant city manager, Mike served as the City manager for the City of Oskaloosa for 12 years.

Mike has a master’s degree in Public Administration from University of Arizona and a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.


Administrative Services DirectorJennifer Sease

Jennifer Sease is responsible for the management oversight of the City Clerk, Human Resources, Finance, Library and Information Technology departments. Prior to serving as the Administrative Services Director, Jennifer served as the City’s Finance Director. She holds a B.S. in Accounting from Northwest Missouri State University.

Brandt Johnson is the assistant to the city manager.
