SW State Street Reconstruction Project starts June 5, 2023

Starting Monday, June 5, 2023, the southbound lanes of SW State Street will be closed to all traffic from just south of West First Street to SW Ordnance Road to allow for the SW State Street Reconstruction Project. Motorists should utilize the detour route of West First Street, SW Irvinedale Drive and SW Vintage Parkway for the duration of the project. The northbound lanes of SW State Street will remain open during the project. 

This reconstruction project includes the full depth removal and replacement of the street pavement the southbound lanes of SW State Street from just south of West First Street to SW Ordnance Road; this is phase one of four phases, additional closures will occur as the project progresses. This project is expected to be completed in September 2023. 

The SW State Street Reconstruction Project is part of the City of Ankeny Capital Improvement Program, a five-year plan for scheduling capital projects and long-term debt. Visit www.ankenyiowa.gov/construction for more information including maps, timelines and more.
