Aug. 5 is International Traffic Light Day. The first electric traffic signal was installed on Aug. 5, 1914 in Cleveland, Ohio. American police officer Lester Wire designed the first electric traffic light in 1912, as automobile traffic was increasing. Celebrate International Traffic Light Day by obeying all traffic control devices, including the traffic light, today and every day!
