Progress Update

The contractor will be closing down NE Delaware Avenue on Wednesday, March 6 starting at 8:30 A.M. to facilitate the placement of the pedestrian bridge metal structure.  This closure will be approximately 12-24 hours long with a signed detour for through traffic.  The road closure will be right at the NE Delaware Avenue Fourmile Creek Bridge, so local residents will still be able to access their driveways.  The street will be reopened up once the bridge placement has been completed.  Once the weather improves this spring the contractor will be back to pour the concrete deck and finish up any remaining punchlist items to close this phase of the project out.  -- updated 3/4/19

The contractor is working on finishing up the abutments for the pedestrian bridge and placing revetment stone erosion protection by the abutments.  Once the contractor has completed this work they will be shut down until next spring for placement of the pedestrian bridge structure and wrapping up the phase 1 project.  -- updated 11/27/18

The contractor finished up the storm sewer and most of the earthwork construction.  The contractor is currently working on the construction of the bridge abutments starting on the south side and moving to the north.  The next step in the construction of this project will be the placement of the bridge structure, which is currently in the hands of the bridge fabricator.  There is no firm schedule set for the delivery of the bridge at this point, which will be the critical path to completing the project once the abutments are completed.  -- updated 11/6/18

The contractor is working on the storm sewer infrastructure and earthwork grading to prepare for the north and south abutment construction.  -- updated 9/19/18

The contractor began work August 14 with setting up traffic control and working on the clearing and grubbing and earthwork.  The contractor will continue working on preparing the project site for abutment construction.  -- updated 9/5/18

The preconstruction conference was held August 6 and the contractor is scheduled to begin the week of August 13.  The contractor will be setting up traffic control and working on clearing and earthwork related to the project. -- updated 8/6/18

This project was awarded in June and a preconstruction conference meeting will occur soon to kick off the construction of Phase 1.  -- updated 7/3/18

This project was bid through the Iowa DOT on May 15, 2018 and is in the process of being awarded. -- updated 5/31/18
