EAST FIRST STREET ENTRANCE RAMP TO NORTHBOUND I-35 IN ANKENY TO CLOSE TUESDAY NIGHT, AUG. 6
An important message from the Iowa DOT
The next phase of the Interstate 35/East First Street interchange project in Ankeny requires closing the East First Street entrance ramp to northbound I- 35 beginning Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 10 p.m., weather permitting. The closure is expected to be in place until early September, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office.
While the ramp is closed, motorists can follow a marked detour using U.S. 69/Ankeny Boulevard, 36th Street, and I-35.
It is likely that while this ramp is closed, there may be traffic backups in this area.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
