    Arrest made in Kidnapping Case

     On Sunday, April 26, 2020, at approximately 4:13 a.m., Ankeny Police were sent to 1390 NW 18th Street for the report of a possible kidnapping in progress.
     
    Upon arrival, officers located Paul Justin Jamison outside of the building with a child. The child is known to Jamison. Jamison was armed with a knife and displayed it at officers. Jamison attempted to flee officers with the child, leading them on a foot chase. With the assistance of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Jamison was taken into custody and the child was safely recovered. No other details will be released at this time. 
     
    Paul Justin Jamison, DOB 7/9/73, of Altoona, was charged with:
     
    Kidnapping 2nd Degree, a class B felony
    Going Armed with Intent, a class D felony
    Interference with Official Acts while Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, a class D felony
