ANKENY MAYOR’S BIKE RIDE AND BIKE RODEO CANCELLED

UPDATE: EVENT CANCELLED 

Due to the cool temperatures and impending weather conditions, the Ankeny Mayor’s Bike Ride and Bike Rodeo has been cancelled.

 

Ankeny Mayor Gary Lorenz invites all residents to join him for the Sixth Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The bike ride will start at 9 a.m. at the Ankeny Park & Ride, 201 NW Ash Drive. Two routes are available: a family friendly 3.5-mile route around the Prairie Ridge Sports Complex and a 15-mile route along the High Trestle Trail to Oasis Island. Registration is not required and participation is free.

In addition to the bike ride on Saturday, May 12, the Ankeny Police Department will host a Bike Rodeo from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Ankeny Park & Ride. Police officers will be offering free bicycle inspections, helmet fittings and a bicycle course courtesy of UnityPoint Clinic.

Sponsors for the events include Kyle’s Bikes, Bike Country, UnityPoint Clinic and the Rotary Club of Ankeny.
