    Join us for the Seventh Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride

    Mayors Bike Ride Logo 2019Ankeny Mayor Gary Lorenz invites all residents to the Seventh Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride on Saturday, May 18, 2019. The bike ride will start at 9 a.m. at the Ankeny Park & Ride, 201 NW Ash Drive. Two routes are available: a family friendly 3.5-mile route around the Prairie Ridge Sports Complex and a 15-mile route along the High Trestle Trail to Oasis Island. Registration is not required and participation is free.

    Before the bike ride, the Ankeny Bike Club will host a Bike Rodeo at 8:15 a.m. at the Ankeny Park & Ride; featuring free bicycle inspections, helmet fittings and a bicycle course. Kids, ages 15 and under, who complete the bicycle course will be entered to win a Trek bicycle, courtesy of Trek. Mayor Lorenz will draw a winner before the ride begins at 9 a.m.

    Sponsors for the event include Kyle’s Bikes and Bike Country.
