    • Employees are still working regular hours and are available by phone 515-965-6430 and email.  

    • Economic Development staff is available to assist local businesses with local, state, and federal business assistance programs that have recently been announced to assist with economic hardship.  As new programs are made available in the coming days and weeks, staff will be able to assist with questions local businesses have about these evolving programs
    • The Iowa State University Center for Industrial Research and Service is providing the following resources for local business, primarily manufacturers:

    • City Hall is closed to the public for walk-in customer service. For assistance, call or email staff first and we will work through the logistics.


    Recently announced programs for business financial assistance

    The programs and initiatives in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that was just passed by Congress are intended to assist small business owners.  View the Small Business Owner’s Guide to the CARES Act here:

    COVID-19 Targeted Small Business (TSB) Sole Operator Fund

    A fund has been created to support TSBs with zero employees that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you are a woman, minority, service-connected disabled veteran, or individual with disabilities, click here to learn more about this program: 


    Iowa Small Business Relief Fund

    The Small Business Relief Program provides financial assistance to small businesses and tax deferrals to Iowa businesses economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Application deadline is March 31, 2020 at 12 p.m. (noon). Click here to learn more about this program:


    U.S. Small Business Administration Disaster Loan Assistance

    The SBA issued a disaster declaration for the state of Iowa on March 21, 2020.  The declaration allows pandemic-impacted businesses to apply for low-interest support loans.  Click here to learn more about this program:
