    Municipal Utilities Continuation of Service Plan

    • Municipal Utilities is operating normally for now despite having the facilities closed to the public. All employees are still reporting to the office and can be reached via various phone numbers and email addresses. View staff contact list. 

    • The Water Division has currently suspended all in home services.

    • If you have a utility issue that needs emergency service during normal business hours (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.), contact Amanda Hayden at 515-963-3538. If there is an emergency service outside of normal business hours, residents should contact the Polk County Dispatch Service at 515-286-3333 and they will dispatch the needed staff through our on-call services.

    • If you need to get a hydrant meter, contact Shawn Buckner at 515-963-3524.

    • If you need to get bulk water, the station is still open, with directions posted at the station. Existing customers now must call in to Customer Service at 515-963-3565 to report dates and amounts of water taken. If someone needs to set up a new account they will need to call 515-963-3530 prior to going to the bulk water station, and then following instructions posted at the station.

    • We are still installing water meters for all new construction.
