    Listening Sessions

The consultant team will begin the on-going public engagement element of this project with a series of focus group “listening sessions”. This is an opportunity for the team to talk with and hear from a cross-section of the community’s public and private leadership early in the project. These informal sessions provide valuable insights into Ankeny’s current issues, opportunities, needs, and priorities as they relate to the regulations that govern the City’s physical and economic development.

    Open Door Meetings

Throughout the project, the consultant team will hold “Open Door” meetings where the team will update the community on the highlights of the project. In addition, they will solicit ideas regarding the key development issues in Ankeny in a come-and-go setting.

    Public Hearings

Toward the end of the project, Ankeny’s Plan and Zoning Commission and City Council will hold public hearings where citizens may voice their opinions on the draft regulations.
