Right of Way Permit

Utility companies and contractors who work within City of Ankeny public rights of way or within other assets under City jurisdiction are required to obtain a permit. The process requires:

Once submitted, we will review the permit request as soon as possible. Please anticipate a minimum of 48 hours for us to review the application. Upon approval, a permit packet will be returned to the applicant with an assigned permit number, date of issuance, permit expiration date, and the general conditions of the permit; including any pertinent details, maps and/or drawings. 

The approved permit packet shall be provided to the on-site work crew by the permitted party. The permit packet shall be accessible on-site at all times. The City may ask to review the permit packet at anytime during the duration of the permitted work. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the work being stopped.
