Adult Craft Night: Diamond Art Bookmarks
Join us and learn how to make a shimmering work of art! You will be diamond painting a bookmark or keychain. Diamond painting is a newer craft that has similarities to cross-stitching and paint by numbers. It is done by applying colorful rhinestone "diamonds," known as drills, to an adhesive canvas. It is an easy and meditative craft. Diamond painting is a fantastic activity to help adults let go of stress and anxiety while building artistic confidence. All materials you need will be provided by the library. Registration Required
Reading glasses are recommended for those who use them for close up work.

Canasta is a card game of the rummy family, invented in Uruguay in 1939 that quickly took the world by storm and became an American craze through the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. If you haven’t played in several years or missed out on the craze entirely, you have another chance to learn the game and make new friends.

Genealogy: Mayflower Society
Join us this month as we learn about the Mayflower Society, which is a society of descendants committed to research the lineal descent of the Mayflower Pilgrims and provide educational programs about the Pilgrims who traveled aboard the Mayflower in 1620 In partnership with Ankeny Library, all genealogy programs are organized and sponsored by the Ankeny Genealogy Club. Everyone is welcome, and there are no fees to attend library programs.

A representative from Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will be on hand to help. “Welcome to Medicare” will cover Medicare Parts A & B benefits, Prescription Drug Benefits (Part D), Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare Supplement Insurance, and Identify Medicare Fraud, Errors and Abuse.

Virtual Author Talk: Tananarive Due
Join us for a chat with Tananarive Due about her newest work, The Wishing Pool and Other Stories. The second collection of stories by the author is full of her signature offerings of horror, science fiction, and suspense while confronting monsters of all kinds, including racism, the monster within, and the supernatural. She is a contributing author of Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda and Black Panther: Sins of the King. Additionally, she co-wrote "A Small Town" for Season 2 of Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone and two segments of Shudder’s anthology film Horror Noire.
