Project Description 

The North Ankeny Boulevard Improvements - 1st Street to 11th Street project is a joint project with the City and Iowa DOT.  Southbound lanes of North Ankeny Boulevard will be reconstructed from 1st Street to 11th Street and northbound lanes will be reconstructed form 1st Street to 5th Street.  Right turn lanes will be added at 5th, 9th, and 11th Street.  NW 9th Street will also be reconstructed between NW Logan Street and N Ankeny Boulevard. Work also includes new traffic signals, storm sewer reconstruction, and landscaping improvements.

 Progress Update

The contractor is paving turn lanes on the northbound lanes of N Ankeny Boulevard.  They are also working on sidewalks and retaining walls along NW 9th Street.  NW 5th Street is closed from N Ankeny Boulevard to east of the HyVee and Kimberley Plaza driveways to allow for storm sewer and water main construction.

Traffic is currently head-to-head in the southbound lanes.
