Water and sewer utility bills can be paid online with a debit card, a credit card or by electronic check. The ability to pay other city bills online is being considered for the future.

No, you may remain on sewer averaging if you so choose. However, installing a second meter could benefit you in the long run, depending upon your usage during the averaging period and how your usage is during non-watering months.

If your vehicle was impounded by the Ankeny Police Department, you need to obtain an impound release in person from the department at Ankeny Police Headquarters, 411 SW Ordnance Road during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fines are charged for all items returned after closing on the due date and for each day thereafter that the library is open.
Borrowing privileges are suspended whenever unpaid fines or other charges total more than $5.
For Blu-Rays and DVDs, the library charges 50 cents for each day past due. For other items, the library charges 20 cents for each day past due.

The Ankeny Fire Department will submit insurance claims if they have the appropriate information. They file Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.
The Ankeny Fire Department is required to have a signature from you or a family member before they are able to file your claim. If we are unable to obtain this signature during the call, a form will be mailed to you asking for your signature and some basic insurance information.
