  • If there are branches, trees, or debris on the power lines contact Mid-American Energy 888-427-5632.

  • To report neighborhood flooding, please contact the Municipal Utilities Department at 515-963-3520.

    If flooding occurs outside of office hours, please contact the Ankeny Police Department at by calling their non-emergency number at 515-286-3333 and a City service crew will be dispatched to your location.

  • If your vehicle has sustained a flat tire or damage on roads within Ankeny city limits, please contact the City Manager's Office at 515-965-6400 for information on filing a claim.

    Before filing a report, please be aware that the Iowa Department of Transportation is responsible for damaged sustained along state highways. This includes:

    • Interstate 35
    • US Highway 69 (North and South Ankeny Boulevard)
    • Iowa Highway 415 (SW State St. South of SW Oralabor Road and SW Oralabor Road West of SW State Street)
    • Iowa Highway 160 (Oralabor Road between I-35 and SW State Street)

    If your vehicle has sustained a flat tire or damage along any of these roads, please contact Ed Mahoney at the Iowa Department of Transportation at 515-261-9514.

  • If you have a downed tree, branches or debris in your yard after a storm event, watch the City of Ankeny's website, Twitter or Facebook accounts, or call City Hall at 515-965-6400 to see if the City is going to provide a storm debris cleanup program. The decision to pick up fallen branches/debris from a storm is determined by the City Manager based on the severity of the storm and the extent of the damage.

    If a city-wide pickup is not announced, your garbage hauler will collect yard waste in bags or bundles. Contact your hauler for more information.

  • If you are a MidAmerican Energy customer, your streetlights are owned, operated and maintained by MidAmerican Energy. Request streetlight repair directly to MidAmerican Energy. If this is an emergency, such as a leaning pole, broken glass or hanging fixture, please call 888-427-5632 for immediate response.

    If you are a Consumers Energy customer, your streetlights are owned, operated and maintained by Consumers Energy. Report broken streetlights directly by calling 800-696-6552.
