The Ankeny Cultural Arts Board was established in 2013. The Board is empowered through Chapter 25 of the Municipal Code.
The Ankeny Cultural Arts Board oversees quality control on public art projects and is responsible for developing funding policy, criteria, application procedures, and allocation of art funds and services and assists in developing the character of the City by providing an arts perspective in the planning of buildings, parks, and public spaces.

Members
The Ankeny Cultural Arts Board is composed of nine members serving five-year staggered terms. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The majority of members shall be residents of Ankeny.
