Aquatics Jobs 

Have fun, make friends and earn money working at the Ankeny pools this summer! Get real-world experience in an atmosphere that is rewarding, challenging, and fun. All lifeguards must be age 15 or older and are required to take and pass the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course. Lifeguard training classes are offered throughout the metro, as well as locally through Ankeny Parks & Recreation.

Staff Wages

• Lifeguards $14.50 per hour

• WSI Swim Instructors $16.50 per hour
• Training Reimbursement
• Swimsuit Allowance
• Flexible Hours

City of Ankeny Aquatic Staff Training Opportunities

Training reimbursement is available! Applicants are not required to be lifeguard certified prior to applying. Lifeguards are hired conditionally pending certification.

Lifeguard Training

• Lifeguard Training and Review classes will be offered in May.
