Full-time Firefighter EMT / Paramedic
Entry Requirement Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to write in English with a minimum number of spelling and grammatical errors.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and function as a team member.
Required Special Qualifications
- Shall possess Iowa Fire Fighter I, II and Hazardous Material Operations Level certification or equivalent.
- Shall possess or obtain ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within 18 months of hire.
- Shall possess and maintain a State of Iowa emergency Medical Services certification.
- Shall possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of Iowa and be insurable to operate city vehicles and equipment.
- Must be able to perform functions as detailed in the Firefighting and EMS General Description of Duties document.
- Must be able to pass a physical ability test.
- Must be able to pass the physical exam per the requirements of the Iowa Municipal Fire and Police and Retirement System for FT personnel.
Part-time Firefighter EMT / Paramedic
