The Community Engagement Team (CET) has an authorized strength of two Police Officers and one Sergeant. CET focuses on community outreach and educational events with the goal of building and fostering community partnerships with key civic groups and individuals. In addition to outreach events, the CET specializes in Crisis Intervention Techniques, following up with all mental health related cases in the department to ensure individuals in need are connected with appropriate resources for their specific needs. The CET also works with Apartment Managers/Landlords within the City of Ankeny to reduce criminal activity occurring in multi-housing dwellings through the Ankeny Crime Free Multi-Housing program.
